Plant Engineer in saskatchewan ($100.000-$125.000) Duties: During construction the Plant Engineer will: - Interact daily with the EPC Contractor to resolve construction issues as they relate to safety, the environment, quality and installation of systems and equipment. - Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. - Support site personnel and Owner’s contractors. - Review contractors’ monthly safety and incident reports. - Participate in job or site specific training as may be required. - Develop, implement and maintain a water chemistry management system in preparation for commissioning and operation of the facility leading up to the expected commercial operation date. - Execute other assignments and responsibilities that may be of interest to the candidate or required by the management. Prior to and after Commercial Operations the Plant Engineer will: - Ensure the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors are in compliance with OHSA regulations and the safe working practices and procedures. - Identify projects or work required to maintain or improve system operational quality. - Perform administrative functions for chemistry, environmental and health & safety programs. - Assist in annual budget process for chemical, environmental and health and safety areas. - Assist the operations team with engineering studies and upgrades required to optimize plant efficiency. - Identify areas to apply new technologies that will enhance plant operation by conserving materials and reducing maintenance down time. - Assists other groups within NPI by developing a network of communications and support. - Develop and implement plant performance monitoring systems to identify areas for improvement in reliability, plant efficiency and long term costs. - Review and understand operational contracts to ensure that the plant is operating within the contract requirements. - Closely interface with all personnel in order to encourage innovations wherever possible. - Responsible to ensure the facility Safety program including chemical safety, transportation and control of dangerous goods, confined space entry and incident response are adhered to. - Providing expert chemical advice to the operations teams to ensure the safe, reliable and economic operation of the assets - Developing and maintaining external relationships with technical service providers and liaise with OEM support staff. - Take an overview of chemistry procedures and practices in order to develop them in line with industry standard practices.
